At Facebook, our mission is to make the world a more open and connected place, and we see 360 video as a new medium that can take you to a place that you’ve never seen or bring a story to life in an entirely new way. This week, we’re shining a light on how charities and causes are using 360 video to tell their stories and bring a new perspective to the work that they’re doing around the globe.
Each day this week, we will feature a different 360 video from a cause or organization on the 360 Videos on Facebook Page. From the story of how a well can change a girl’s life in Ethiopia via charity : water to taking a virtual journey to Peru as part of a giving trip from TOMS Shoes, 360 video is able to help bring a different perspective to the work that these organizations are doing around the globe.
As we begin the holiday season, we wanted to highlight these narratives and help share them a little wider. Every day, 360 video and VR storytelling continues to evolve and reach a greater audience. We hope that as more people connect with these stories, they will bring a new way of looking at the charitable work that’s happening around the world today — and maybe they will inspire the next generation of causes tomorrow.
